I went with my family ( my parter, my parents, siblings, brother and sister in law) and we shared a wonderful time at Loma Bonita. A beautiful and super comfortable place to enjoy nature, to rest, to have fun. The food was delicious. We will definitely plan to live a Loma Bonita experience again!
Nothing can be said to describe this wonderful place… We took a large family vacation here… Enjoyed the property for a full week… It is the best place to relax and enjoy lots of sun, sand and sea! We were able to see some whales on our last day… I loved the fact that there was no cell phone coverage so I was able to rest!
A friend invited me and my wife to spend 4 days with 4 other couples just south of Zihuatanejo. It was a perfect setting for a couple’s retreat. Enough space and privacy (a large central house and three self contained bungalows), yet a wonderful central kitchen, living area, and pool to enjoy one another’s company. Part of the charm is its isolation. Miles of natural, unpopulated beaches. Amazing sunsets. A small fishing village 3/4 mile down the beach where you can eat breakfast under a thatch roof, 10 feet from the surf. If you’re looking for non-commercial this is the place. A perfect location for family reunions, small groups, and retreats.
A must see vacation spot that offers everything that small town Mexico is famous for. The resort was cleverly designed to appeal to those seeking relaxation and beach activities. It’s great for relaxing and enjoying breathtaking ocean and mountain views, and also offers the opportunity to swim or surf alone in the warm and pristine ocean. In late January, we booked a direct flight from lax to Zihautaneo. At the airport, we were promptly met by Chris, the resort’s manager. After a 40 minute drive, we were pleasantly surprised as to how a relatively new resort had left no stone unturned. The decor was old Mexican charm, while the amenities provided every modern convenience that made this a no-brainer vacation. Each day was spent walking miles on the clean, unspoiled beach that is footsteps from the villa. Whale watching, surfing, and lounging poolside comprised a good portion of our day. A ten minute walk to charming beach side restaurants was an option, yet week took advantage of the resort’s offer to provide a cook that had us feast on fresh lobster, shrimp, snapper and dorado, along with a sampling of local dishes all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. This gem of a resort is a private retreat that offers excellent customer service and would be ideal for both couples or a family vacation. Can’t wait to visit again!
Beautiful views, great house and fantastic vacation spot!
We had a wonderful stay in this house!! The house and palapas have excellent taste, the beach is completely private and the ocean is clear and warm. Karina, the cook, is excellent! Ideal place to get away from it all, rest, read in hammocks, play ping pong, sunbathe, eat delicious seafood, watch beautiful sunsets... Our dogs could run free and happy. Very recommended!
Everything about this experience was wonderful. I got married on the property and with the help of Liz (the owner) everything went smoothly. Some of the highlights included the property staff (very friendly and helpful), privacy of the property, the infinity pool, the personal chef (very affordable), and the absolute wow factor that it had for my guests. We will for sure be returning!
We absolutely loved the rental. It was quiet, serene, and relaxing. In a world where we are bombarded with noise and technology pollution, it was nice to be unavailable to any distractions. We were able to stay focused on good food, beautiful nature, and wonderful interactions with each other.
We had such a lovely stay here in which we disconnected from the every day, relaxed, surfed, swam and soaked up the sun. The locals staff was accommodating and the locals were wonderful! We highly recommend this for families, couples and anyone else needing a fabulous holiday!
I spent 5 days @ Loma with 3 buddies surfing, relaxing, eating and drinking. We spear-fished with Chris, the fantastic villa ‘facilitator,’ body-boarded, ping ponged, ate and drank. One nite, a local restaurant owner brought in Ceviche, and local langostino (river shrimp) with all the fixins; delicious. Short drives to local towns, south of Zijuat, Petatlan and San Vicente was a great cultural experience. Chris is cool, relaxed and knowledgeable, knowing many locals in the area. The property contains a fantastic main house with gorgeous infinity pool looking over the local break next to an out door Palapa sitting area. This is where you end up spending most of your resting time, gazing at the break and planning your next water event: fishing, spear fishing, kite surfing, Stand Up paddling etc, whatever your choice. 200 yards down the drive of the property are 3 incredible solo palapa rooms, each with a king sized bed and view of surf break. Aside from Chris, the help/staff are wonderful locals from the neighborhood, sweet and always ready to help. Surf out front is warm with nice rights and lefts down @ the point. Finally, the Yoga ‘pad’ with amazing natural trellis overhead is a powerful icon of the property, especially at nite with gorgeous lighting. If you’re looking for a uniquely Mexican beach and cultural experience, where you can create your own adventures, I recommend Loma Bonita.
The views are amazing, period. Sunrise and sunset, stars for miles, Humpback whales breeching, pelican fly byes, waves crashing, cool breezes, extremely comfortable house… Go go go!!! You won’t want to go anywhere else!!! The only problem was that the beer was too cold!
Amazing location, like your own resort with all the extras! We will be making it a yearly trip!
We stayed in Playa Loma Bonita and my two grown daughters joined us, one from New York city and one from Delhi, India. Everyone was amazed at first that there was neither cell phone network or email. As it turned out they were thrilled. There was a satellite phone but no one cared. For the first time in a decade they were able to be ‘in the moment’, unwind, and we so enjoyed being together. Work stopped, and the holiday began. The villa and bungalows were the only construction on the beach for 12 miles, the sand is pure, the zero-edge pool looks out to a wide-open ocean – there were whales blowing spouts of water most mornings, and we often just watched the ocean. When we weren’t swimming or body-boarding we walked to the beach shacks to have fresh fish cooked anyway we’d like. Five days was not enough, next year we’re booking for nine – and the kids, yes, they’re excited to leave their cell phone networks to once again be on holiday with their family.
Highlights were waking up to a 180 vista of surf without leaving bed, walking unspoiled beautiful beaches at sunrise, a decadent massage on an shaded balcony, sighting whales while sunbathing by the pool, yoga at sunset, eating fresh, authentic mexican food, and falling asleep to evening breezes under a full moon. Magical!
Loma Bonita is a piece of heaven. I live in NYC and and often have a hard time getting away from my work, and truly relaxing. My week spent in December at this amazing place was the best holiday I’ve had in 10 years. I felt like a kid again – I rode horses, went boogie boarding every day, and was able to get in a sunset stand-up paddle boarding experience that blew me away. We woke up every morning to at least 4 humpback whales – feeding, breaching – it was extraordinary. We migrated between the negative edge pool and the perfectly warm ocean; had massages almost every day, and lived off fresh fish. The place was beyond gorgeous, the house and pool beautiful, the property manager Chris was super, and the owners so accommodating and easy going. It’s going to be 11 degrees tomorrow here in NY, and I’m dreaming of that view, the sound of the ocean, paddle boarding at sunset… We have already booked our return – and knowing I’ll be back there will help me make it through this winter, and another hectic year. Viva Loma Bonita!
